I just returned from the first ever Vegan Fashion Week in Los Angeles and before I started putting together the video and all the photos of the event for a bigger post, I thought I would share the beauty / self-care products that got me through the show.
I travel quite often, so I have a little bag with all of my TSA approved products ready to go that I can easily throw into my carry on. The only thing I take with me on a day-to-day basis is my Osea Anti-Aging Hand Cream – I can’t live without it.
It was pouring all weekend which meant that my hair was a fuzzball. I did what I could to save it, using The Ouai Anti-Frizz Sheets. They are supposed to be single use, but I stretch one sheet out for at least 4 applications. It’s better for the environment and I find the smell less overwhelming.
This was my first time using the Milk Makeup Kush Glaze and I already know it’s going in my everyday bag. Can we get a hallelujah that glossy lips are back in style? Anyway, this is a lightly scented, silky lip shine that doubles as a mask. Apparently you can wear it overnight to help with hydration. I didn’t try that but I did wear it all day and I loved it. It was long lasting and felt great on my lips.
Where would I be without my Moon Juice Brain Dust? My sister-in-law gifted me a few of these back in December when I was going to Europe with my mother and I loved the way they seem to clear the brain fog that comes along with jet-lag. I keep one in my bag just in case I start to feel mentally rundown and need a boost.
I saved the best for last because I never thought I was going to find a cruelty free alternative to the Nars Radiant Concealer. I tried everything (including Tarte) and nothing was working out for me. I don’t wear foundation or anything tinted on my face, so concealer is the one thing I use to level out the redness around my nose and the occasional spot. I have no idea why it took me so long, but a couple of months ago I discovered Cover FX Power Play Concealer and it changed my life. In fact, I think it’s better than the Nars product. It’s creamy, full coverage and blends out very easily for those of you who aren’t professionals. If that wasn’t enough, they’re a cruelty free and vegan company, so this concealer will never be leaving my side.
That’s basically everything I take with me when I travel – my plan moving forward is to try to remember my B12 Supplement Spray and my portable coffee cup so I can stop feeling guilty about my paper consumption when I’m out of town. I’m headed off to New Orleans in a couple of days so stay tuned for my post on all things Nola!
